Update January 19, 2024: After much speculation, Comme des Garçons Homme Plus showcased their collaborative Nike Air Max TL 2.5 during their show at Paris Fashion Week. In typical CdG fashion, triple black, triple white, and white/black colourways of the 2006 Air Max runner were on display.

Expect the collaborative sneaker to drop in Fall/Winter 2024, via Dover Street Market and at select retailers. Keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for any updates.

Tighten your laces because it’s suspected that Comme des Garçons could be running it back on the beloved Nike Air Max TL 2.5 from 2006. CDG are no stranger to reimagining and reviving obscure picks from the Nike catalogue, so this potential colab is definitely in line with CDG's raison d'etre and also pleasing to the Air Max TL 2.5’s fervent fanbase. While it’s only a rumour at this point, it’s still got fans of the retro kicks watching closely for further details.

A thicker silhouette than other Air Max models, the TL 2.5 assumes the Air Max 97’s sole unit but completely remixes the upper. No matter the colourway, the running shoe is streaked with wavy beams that give the profile a fluid aesthetic. It’s a bulky sneaker, but the combination of the body’s mesh build with the Air cushioning and pronounced rubber outsole offer the wearer a rugged but comfortable step.

Unfortunately, there’s no images available yet since this is still a rumour. Fans will be keen to see the original colourways, but given CDG’s track record for cheffing up a unique twist with all their Nike colabs, it's a mystery at this point.

This long-awaited trip down retro lane is rumoured for release in Fall 2024. There’s currently no confirmation from Nike or CDG, so stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for more information.
