The New Balance 991 is a hallmark silhouette in NB’s famed 99x series. Originally releasing in 2001, it fused the classic 990 look with a modernised design lens, creating a streamlined toe box that delivered a sleeker look. The 991 was also the first time that NB’s signature ABZORB foam peered out of the model, and could be seen towards the rear and forefoot. The sole unit was completed using Ndurance rubber, creating an epic durable outsole. It was a silhouette that perfectly showcased the New Balance minimalist look with comfortability, support and quality.

As it was released in 2001, this year marks the big 20th anniversary of the silhouette, and we’ve already seen a massive collaboration arrive! Patta reworked the 991 in clean tones, and we predict there will be a lot more where that came from.
