Monthly Mods: The Best Custom Sneakers From April

Welcome to Sneaker Freaker’s Monthly Mods series, where we round up the best sneaker mockups, custom creps, and AI-generated creations from the past few weeks. What we consider a ‘mod’ is any sneaker that has been altered from its original design, which could be as simple as painting something cool on an AF-1 or having an illustrator craft a cool mockup, or as involved as completely disassembling a sneaker to reassemble it with new, premium materials.

It’s been a hot year for custom sneaks so far, with both February and March packed with plenty of original designs – but April may have beaten them all. For this month’s edition of Monthly Mods, we looked beyond the physical and scoped some shoes created using AI. Let’s round up the best of April!

Interestingly, this month was Jordan Brand and Travis Scott heavy, following the recent collaborative ‘Olive’ Air Jordan 1 Low release and a special shoutout to the custom ‘Phantom’ football boots from @theee703. New Balance have been a regular in the customiser space over the past few years, namely the 2002R, and following the 4/20 celebrations, more than a few customisers have dabbled in some dank creations.
