Seoul is quickly morphing into a mecca for sneakerholics and streetwear fiends. Big brands like Supreme and Fucking Awesome have already taken notice, recently planting fresh flagships on South Korean soil. There’s also been rumblings that NOAH and Palace are planning to set up shop, and that’s already with the plethora of homegrown brands like thisisneverthat and ADER ERROR.

As South Korea’s capital, and one of Asia’s largest metropolises, you best believe Seoul has a burgeoning fashion and sneaker scene. Alongside the swathe of brand flagships is a healthy amount of local sneaker boutiques that have it all – from GRs to grails.

Here are the ones that you must visit when you’re in Seoul.

TUNE

Sneaker spot TUNE, located in Seoul’s Seongsu region, is luxe, minimal and open-spaced. Situated at 3 Seongsui-ro, TUNE is stocked with brands ranging from Salomon to Suicoke and from Clarks to Converse! They’re known to sell all the latest creps, with hype heat from Nike and underrated gems from ASICS. Although if no sneakers catch your eye, you can always peruse their epic curation of apparel.

Concept Shop

This one’s for all the OG heads and 2000s sneaker/streetwear/ura-harajuku stans! Concept Shop is located near Mangwon Hangang Park in the Mangwon region, and it is an ever-changing archival store serving up only sought-after rarities. Within you can find owner Byunghuk Lee, whose large collection of sneakers, apparel and collectibles guarantees you’ll find some gems. A sneaker fiend? You’ll be able to scoop rare pairs from years gone by. Enjoy some golden-era Ura-Hara wares? Cop only the best from Fragment and NEIGHBORHOOD. Concept Shop is a must when traversing the Seoul sneaker space!

Chips

Hunting for a rare pair? Chips, a project by stackhouse, have got you covered as the one-stop retail shop for all your hype needs. Hocking secondhand pairs out of their Itaewon-ro location, you could cop sought-after Jordan Brand heat if you’re lucky, alongside a selection of other hype colabs.

E( )PTY

The name may be E( )PTY ( pronounced empty), but the store definitely isn’t. Located in the Seongsu district, this multi-brand retailer is stocked to the brim with an expertly curated selection. Leaning more on the fashion side, E()pty hosts some of the most sought-after collaborative sneaker drops that sit alongside their catalogue of high-end wares. Stocking brands like Nicholas Daley, Namachecko, Chillbies, Mizuno and Ottolinger, there’s no doubt you’ll find something unique and won’t leave E( )PTY handed.

Kasina

You simply can’t take a trip to Seoul and not visit Kasina! Founded in 1997 by former pro skater EunHyuk Lee, this Korean mainstay has helped pioneer the South Korean sneaker and streetwear scenes for over two decades. Over the years, they’ve become one of the go-tos for any crep aficionado visiting Seoul, amassing global notoriety for their epic product offering and multiple collaborations. Kasina currently operates three brick-and-mortars across Seoul and Busan, check ‘em out next time you’re there!

Kith

Kith have opened a flagship in Seoul's Seongsu neighbourhood, with the new four-story behemoth just as opulent as their predecessors. Like their many other retail outposts, each floor has been sectioned off according to product, with floors dedicated to streetwear, sneakers and lifestyle goods. There will also be a Sadelle's located on the fourth-floor terrace and Kith treats included in the Seoul flagship.

Supreme

Supreme have been increasing their presence in Asia, and one of their latest flagship locations has been in Seoul. This was also followed by another brick-and-mortar located in China's city of Shanghai. They opened the doors to their first-ever Korean flagship on August 18, taking shape in the city's Sinsa-Dong, Gangnam-gu region.
