Right now you’re probably still in the depths of thinking about your new year’s resolutions, trying to succeed in your mission to quit vaping, eat better or workout more. But here at , our minds are currently occupied with the bevy of footwear anniversaries that’ll be celebrated (or forgotten?) in 2025.

Nike Air Max 95

Timothée Chalamet isn’t the only icon turning 30 in 2025, as the legendary will also celebrate the mega milestone. collaborative joints got in early, landing late in 2024, but have more than that up their sleeve for the anniversary, with the Beaverton crew confirming the ‘Neon’ will make a triumphant return to shelves. There’s also been rumours of a mash-up, similar to that of the from 2023, and a collaborative variation with has been leaked.

Other than the ‘Neon’, nothing else has been confirmed by Nike, but we’ll be covering it all. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker’s releases page for the most up-to-date info.

adidas UltraBOOST

The was once the dominant sneaker on the market, with its performance-geared build that was also appropriated for lifestyle wear. It seemed every sneakerhead and their mother was trying to acquire the supremely comfortable kicks. Having initially released in 2015, BOOST was the fresh new tech from Team Trefoil and was bolstered into a fashion must-have thanks to , especially after he used the tech in his many adidas creations. Whether adidas will go wild with their celebrations is currency known, but we wanted to say happy tenth birthday to BOOST anyway!

Take an in-depth look at the now-legendary BOOST tech .

adidas NMD

It’s wild to think that it’s been ten years since adidas came up with the franchise – who else is feeling old? The adidas NMD Runner landed in 2015 and merged the brand's popular BOOST tech with that era’s favourite material – . Groundbreaking for the time, its DNA was drawn from the likes of the , and the mini-computer-packing . Flaunting a bold design of a sock-like upper, eye-catching blocks affixed to the midsole and cushy comfortability, the NMD went on to become a favourite of the hypesphere. Between 2015 and 2017, getting your hands on a pair of these sneaks could almost rival that of Travis colabs today, with eager punters lining up outside their local to scoop their size. There’s no doubt that the NMD rode off the coattails of its UltraBOOST predecessor, but it had an epic run nonetheless.

Nike Air Max 90

We love the , you love the Air Max 90, everyone loves the Air Max 90! It’s hard to look past the influence of the legendary silhouette, which hasn’t left shelves since its launch in 1990. A barrage of subcultures around the globe have adopted the chunky Air-injected model, reinforcing its already-iron-clad reputation as a cult classic. There’s not much we know about the 35th bday, other than the highly anticipated , but we’re hoping for another injection of ‘Infrared’.

Jordan Brand

Forty years ago, the signature line was just a twinkle in Sonny Vaccaro’s eye. Now a global powerhouse, the debut model is celebrating four glorious decades, and the offering is set to be of megalithic proportions. The will see bangers getting re-released such as the ‘Black Toe’, ‘Bred’ and ‘Shattered Backboards’ to boot! Other signature models such as the Air Jordan 5 and the Air Jordan 11 are also marking milestone years, so peep the full list of the .

Nike Shox R4

The has a build that only a true sneakerhead can love. This 2000s baby touched down courtesy of designer , and soon after its launch, found a niche audience of fanatics dedicated to the new tech. They were quickly adopted by comedy’s most famous sneakerhead, , it’s just a pity he couldn’t wear them on the show!

Nike Air Presto

Another Air-clad naughties sneaker celebrating 25 years is the legendary Nike , the t-shirt for your feet! This concept was first thought up by Tobie Hatfield and Kevin Hoffer, and later designed by Bob Mervar. The Air Presto has always remained a favourite for fans of Nike’s and has experienced ebbs and flows in popularity, so we’re hoping 2025 will retro bangers return such as the ‘Lightning’ – a Sneaker Freaker favourite.

Reebok Ventilator

please don’t forget about the ! Another heater from 1990 alongside the AM90 and GLIII, it was designed as a breathable featherweight runner, coming correct with the then-innovative cushioning. The last time we can remember Reebok properly celebrating the Ventilator was its 25th birthday in 2015, with retros of OG colourways and a nice smattering of colabs marking the occasion. The 30th anniversary in 2020 came and went with no fuss, so now’s the time to celebrate 35 years of the Ventilator.

Yeezy BOOST 750

The peak era of that we once knew and adorned is officially over, replaced with the messy and of adidas and Ye. The separation doesn't mean we can't reminisce and celebrate a mega Yeezy anniversary in 2025 though. The , which debuted in 2015, caused mass hysteria for the rapper’s dedicated fanbase. While adidas are most likely going to skip this anniversary, that doesn’t mean you have to!

ASICS GEL-Lyte III

You simply can't miss the 35th anniversary of this legend! The touched down way back in 1990 and has since become one of the brand's most successful lifestyle models. Known for its contentious split tongue, the GLIII has seen too many colabs and colourways to count, including a handful with us! We’re expecting a big party, even if the model isn’t currently ASICS’ flavour of the month.
