A Closer Look at the Air Jordan 3 ‘Khaki’ and ‘Denim’ Samples
The iconic has seen various uber-rare renditions over the years, and there aren’t many out there more limited than these ‘Khaki’ and ‘Denim’ samples. Only three pairs of each are said to exist, with DJ Khaled and Perfect Pair acknowledged as owners of the coveted duo, but it looks like we can now add to that list. The IG sneaker connoisseur has given us a detailed look at both colourways – the best shots we’ve seen of them since they were unveiled seven years ago.
Very little was known about these, but the latest pictorial more or less confirms that they’re a one of three sample, with only one pair being the mismatched set. It’s said that these pairs were created to test the durability and wearability of various materials (we’ve since learned that works just fine), and were never intended for a wide release.
The ‘Denim’ is covered in a navy denim upper with tan stitching, complemented with a tan Jumpman and heel tabs. Meanwhile, the ‘Khaki’ flips the look with a Jumpman in blue, and the rest of the upper in a khaki-like suede. Each colourway is completed with a white midsole and gum outsole, as well as blue and tan elephant print on the mudguards.
No general release is planned, but we certainly wouldn’t be against dropping similar-looking pairs in the future.
