The adidas Adimatic Adds Pastel ‘Purple Tint’ to Its Palette
After spending decades getting their court sneakers and retro runners more or less bang on for reissue releases, have begun turning their attention to their wider and sometimes more obscure catalogue. One such example is the , a mid-1990s skate model that has helped remind sneakerheads of an entire heritage category almost forgotten by the industry. Its mass appeal continues to broaden with new colours such as this ‘Purple Tint’ that is arriving soon.
The Adimatic’s oversized proportions are certainly representative of the era it was born in, and it’s managed to return as a unique proposition thanks to its idiosyncratic features. For one, the sawtooth-like texture on the heel and toe bumpers aren’t found on any other shoes of the era, while the flowing, wavy midsole is complementary of the upper’s puffy shapes. The puffy isn’t just cosmetic – the tongue and ankle collars are suitably padded for on-board use.
That being said, skating in this cutesy ‘Purple Tint’ suede number is about as sensible as Diddy playing paintball at the White Party, so best to shred one of the currently available, and save this pretty pastel for casual use. Like y’know, whatever.
The Adimatic in ‘Purple Tint’ should arrive in coming weeks at adidas retailers.
