The Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn Is Finally Here

Update January 11, 2024: The Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn has finally dropped, coming in three sleek colourways: 'Legend Medium Brown', 'Black', and 'Coconut Milk'. The latter is the most recent to drop and features the signature chunky heel in 'Pine Green'.

The first two iterations are now on Nike's website, while 'Coconut Milk' can be copped from select retailers like Makeway.

The Jordan Brand have taken their classic basketball sneakers deep into lifestyle territory, with the newest Air Jordan 1 taking a page from Dr Martens’s handbook. The women’s boot is dubbed ‘Brooklyn’ and certainly would be good for stomping around the NYC streets.

The classic AJ1 silhouette is identifiable, with the same paper structure and overlays featured, but the most prominent change is the chunky platform that has a square pattern on it that resembles a tyre. The second change is the raised ankle area into the boot-like structure, with the laces going all the way up. The branding is minimal, with the Jumpman only appearing very subtly on the heel and sole. Nike Air branding takes the tongue and insole spots in a muted grey.

The Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn ‘Black’ is set to drop early next year in January for $165 at select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike. It will come in women’s sizing.
