The Air Jordan 1 Low ‘Light Iron Ore’ Finesses Fleece
The train keeps chugging out new colourways to be worn for all seasons. This next edition sees the model – now very much a core lifestyle offering from the sportswear behemoth that is – take on some fleece panelling, in a massive departure from its basketball court origins. Alas, that ship sailed a long, long, time ago.
Perhaps there is still some connection back to ball via these fleece inserts. They’re a light grey marle, almost reminiscent of tracksuits worn to warm up or stave off the cold before a game. It’s been used on the toe box, mid panel and tongue. Because it replaces leather in these sections, the perforations are also gone from the toe, resulting in a pretty clean look. This is furthered thanks to the tonal grey leather overlays on the toe bumper, eye stays, heel counter, and Swoosh, which also have a bit of grain running through. It’s not all monochromes here though, as light pink laces, while somewhat unconventional, work well to add just a bit of necessary pop.
