Jordan Brand Spell It Out for You on This Air Jordan 1 Mid ‘Bred'
Pop quiz: what do you get when you combine black and red? The colour wheel would tell you anything from maroon to burgundy to a muddy brown, but sneaker lovers know a different answer: 'Bred.' Referring to black and red sneakers as 'Bred' is baked into Air Jordan mythology, and Jordan Brand has been servin' the story up as of late thanks to fresh-out-of-the-oven takes the 'Bred' with all-over text hits and equations that explain their name.
Where the first AJ 1 Mid 'Bred' offered a true-to-the-original black and red , this new style instead opts to offer a mix of white, red and black shades for an alternate take on 'Bred' that's closer to recent models like the than the 1985 original. It's also absolutely slathered with text, as each white piece of the upper reads 'Black' in repeating black print and each black piece says 'Red' in – you guessed it – red print.
These headache-inducing text hits are calmed down a touch by unadorned black tongues and ball-and-wings logos, while down on the midsole the shoe rounds off its equation. There, on the lateral side, sits a simple-by-comparison 'Black+Red=Bred' graphic, which rounds off the look.
If you like your Air Jordans on the in-your-face side of the spectrum, the Air Jordan 1 Mid 'Bred' will release via the Nike webstore in the coming weeks.
