The Air Jordan 1 Mid Gets the ‘Bred Toe’ Treatment
There is a rather persistent agenda against the Mid on the Internet. Whichever side of the fence sneakerheads stand behind, it’s inarguable that OG-style colourways work well on just about any variant of the AJ1. For example, this ‘Bred Toe’ looks pretty, pretty good – at least on the colourway front.
Air Jordan 1 Mids are defined by their slightly shorter stature compared to their High sibling, which is a result of having fewer eyelets and a lower ankle shaft. Beyond that, the details are near identical, meaning leather uppers, leather or nylon tongues – this one’s the latter – and Nike Air inside the rubber soles.
Of course, there are other elements that distinguish Mids from the other cuts, namely the Jumpman branding. This has always been something of a point of contention, at least from a historical viewpoint of the brand – plus the fact MJ technically played in Mids for a number of games back in 1985-86.
Anyway, this ‘Bred Toe’ rendition balances the Chicago colours of black, red and white in appropriate proportions across the upper, dousing the entirety of the toe box in red, thus giving this colourway its nickname. ETA: some time in 2022.
