Update May 25, 2022: An in-hand look at the Air Jordan 1 'Mocha' has surfaced! Hype has been building for this tonal brown iteration and it will no doubt be a heavy hitting mid-top in 2022. Stay locked for release details.
Many sneakerheads will likely be changing their minds about the frequently maligned Air Jordan 1 Mid, if strong editions like the ‘Mocha Toe’ keep coming out. Here’s a first look at a sample pair of this safe combination that will undoubtedly draw comparisons to other high profile AJ1s like the and .
As shared by , these AJ1 Mids take the fairly conventional – daresay even OG-styled – ‘-toe’ template and dips it in the ‘Mocha’ nickname. This is matched up to the tongue, ankle overlay and heel counter. The middle panel is white, while the remaining accents of the toe bumper, eye stays and ankle collar are black. Pretty straightforward yet effective so far.
A closer look also reveals somewhat unorthodox additions to the Mid. For one, the entire upper is canvas, evoking AJKO parallels. This material swap also means the Swoosh, usually a stitched-on panel, is now completely built up with thick black embroidery.
By zooming real close to the sample tag behind the shoes, it also appears this colourway is slated to be a women’s release, but no timeframe has been stated. As they were made some time in 2021, a drop could be on the horizon – or perhaps they’ve been scrapped completely.
