The has pretty much dominated the sneakersphere ever since its 1985 debut, and has released in a countless amount of colourways. Usually, we see two-tone builds that hark back to Michael Jordan’s storied past, keeping it subdued for the Jordan Brand audience. However the latest, given the moniker ‘Rebellionaire’, is one of the most unorthodox colourways we’ve ever seen! We first caught wind of the new iteration back in October of 2021 with an to follow. Similarly to other releases, delays hit and finally, after months of waiting, they’re about to drop.
The unique ‘Rebellionaire’ was actually inspired by the original ‘Banned’ Air Jordan 1 (Air Ship). It tells the story of how a rebellious Michael Jordan was to wear the ‘Bred’ colourway on-court playing in the NBA despite getting fined $5000 per game. The uppers are covered in graphics using graffiti-style words from the Nike commercial that was released after the controversy.
