The Self-Lacing Air Jordan 11 Adapt Returns in ‘Legend Blue’
After to celebrate the model’s 25th anniversary, the Adapt is coming back, this time in ‘Legend Blue’. Considering the substantial investment put into integrating innovative Adapt technology into the classic ball shoe, it makes sense to drop more than just one colourway.
The ‘Legend Blue’ shade has become something of a retconned hue in AJ11 lore, which effectively serves as an updated edition of the ‘Columbia’ OG. This rewritten history and altered colour can then be considered an appropriate palette for this retrofitted model. Like its debut colourway, the Adapt tech replaces the traditional shoelaces of the AJ11, while retaining its distinct loops. Of course, buttons are added to the lateral side of the midsole to control the tightening and loosening of the closure.
To better express the hi-tech finish, the AJ11 Adapt’s upper uses blue ripstop fabric – an overt reference to the ballistic nylon of the analogue version – and ditches the shiny patent for supple suede. Again in a nod to the ‘OG’ colour, ‘Legend Blue’ shows up across the upper.
The Air Jordan 11 Adapt ‘Legend Blue’ doesn’t yet have a release date, but it’s possible they’ll release in late December like its predecessor. And it’s also likely they’ll retail for $500 again. Better get saving.
