Understanding the machinations behind Nike and Jordan Brand’s release calendar is difficult, especially when we witness heater samples that should have made it to shelves. That’s exactly the case with the Air Jordan 11 ‘Gammas’ that touched down in 2013 for the holiday season, which were initially inspired by Chris Paul’s Hornets Air Jordan 12 PE.

A sample pair has now arrived via renowned sample collector English Sole, showcasing this colourway that was supposedly meant to drop. This sample Air Jordan 11 ‘Gamma’ looks similar to the pair that did see a release, albeit with a few changes. The icy blue midsole has been swapped out for black, and purple branding and accents can be seen scattered throughout. A fluorescent tongue liner tops things off.
