The ‘Cherry’ was originally released in 1997, and they were worn by when he obtained his fifth championship during the NBA 1996-1997 season. Twelve years after the debut, decided to retro the fan-favourite colourway, but since 2009 there’s been no word from the ‘Cherry’ aside from occasional baseless rumours of a return… until now.
While it hasn’t been officially confirmed by Jordan Brand, multiple sources have pointed to 2023 as the resurrection year for the Air Jordan 12 ‘Cherry’, with leaked imagery floating around the internet. Coming in OG form, the upper is doused in a mix of smooth and textured leather, with a two-tone white and ‘Varsity Red’ colourway. Elsewhere, Jumpman branding remains on the tongue in black, alongside silver eyestays.
