This Air Jordan 5 NFL PE Was Inspired by Football Helmets
The Playoffs are in full swing, and with divisional round matchups set to kick off this weekend sample/PE collector has provided detailed photos of a football helmet-inspired PE. Created for Jordan Brand's roster of NFL athletes, which includes mega-stars like Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams, Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs and Seattle Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner plus rising young talents like Pittsburgh Steelers WR Chase Claypool and Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts, the PE was originally distributed around this time last year but this marks the first up-close look at it.
A detail that immediately demands your attention is the reflective multicolour foil present on the tongue and midfoot netting, a shimmering material that wouldn't look out of place on an helmet. The upper is built from textured white patent leather, and most of the helmet-inspired detailing can be seen on the heel – there's a two-tone stripe, a vertically-stacked #23 hit, a small American flag and even the warning label that can be found on high-end football helmets. Finishing touches of detail are served up by more hits of black and red on the lace locks and midsole.
You'll never see this Air Jordan 5 at retail, as it was made specifically for the Jumpman's 19 NFL athletes. However, you can check out a detailed set of images above.
