Allbirds and adidas Focus on Sustainable Practices With Their FUTURECRAFT.FOOTPRINT
In the past few years, sneaker brands have been making major strides in sustainability, from creating product using recycled materials to employing new technologies that minimise the adverse effects of production. With both and trying to go green, they’ve decided to join forces to release a performative, stylish and ultra-sustainable model known as the FUTURECRAFT.FOOTPRINT.
According to the collaborative duo, ‘Seeing the possibilities of accelerating a carbon neutral future for sports and style’ encouraged them ‘to forge a unique partnership: opening up their materials, supply chains and innovations to each other’.
And this joint project has been quite the effort, as the FUTURECRAFT.FOOTPRINT uses just 2.94kg of CO2e! Looking at the design, they’ve gone for a sleek all-white finish with stitched patterns placed across the upper. A minimal white sole unit, which has been inspired by adidas’ Lightstrike silhouette, is then infused with the Allbirds SweetFoam cushioning technology.
The FUTURECRAFT.FOOTPRINT will launch this month as part of a specialised limited Creators Club drop, with a wider release to follow.
