An Official Sighting of the New Nike OverBreak SP
The has been previously hinted at by a number of current , but these official ecomm shots confirm the existence of the new model. It’s not quite a hybrid, but it definitely combines heritage design with cutting-edge tech.
The OverBreak’s uppers are fairly conventional, with the nylon rear quarter a throwback to Nike’s earliest runners, while the front sections are matted out in suede for a classic combo. The brown colourway with purple Swoosh is also definitely a heritage touch. However, underfoot it’s a completely different story.
With a midsole made entirely from React foam, those bulbous and craggy shapes reveal the potential that the material can be reformed and moulded for a visually striking effect. There is also definitely an underlying performance reason for the midsole layout, as proven in pioneering React models like the React Element 87 and Epic React.
With the overt trail influence going on, it’s only expected that heritage details like hiking-style rope laces, dirt-brown midsole patina, and woven tags come as standard.
Stay tuned for release details. There are already sightings of a potential , so if Nike end up going deep with the OverBreak, it’s going to be a very interesting assortment of releases.
