Flex Subtly in the BEAMS-Exclusive New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX

Update February 1, 2023: BEAMS have revealed their new exclusive New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX in full. While resembling the existing iteration, this exclusive version sports subtle orange branding on the upper, plus a BEAMS logo is hidden on the insole. They'll be available from BEAMS stores on February 4.

BEAMS and New Balance have a long relationship going back years, and now it looks like the duo have invited water-wicking tech company GORE-TEX to colab on a three-way venture. Teased earlier today via IG, the trio look to be linking on an NB2002R that’s been bolstered with a waterproof build! Obscured by water, the image shows a tonal colourway in a light grey with a patterned blue ’N’ logo.

This pair will come fresh off BEAMS’ venture with Paperboy Paris, where they crafted a New Balance 920 and 1500, both debuting via a pop-up at Paris Fashion Week. Also last year, the pair assisted NB with curating an exclusive New Balance 574, bolstered with high-grade suede, mesh and luxe white trim. The Japanese fashion stalwarts are also fresh off an ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 colab, where they shrouded the running silhouette in a mosquito net.

No exact release date has surfaced for the BEAMS x GORE-TEX x New Balance 2002R, but we do know that they’re ‘coming soon’.
