Best Look Yet: Tom Sachs Spotted Again in 'Alternate' Nike Mars Yard 2.5
We were treated to a number of sightings of the latest x throughout 2020, with the best looks of the delivered by Half Gallery boss Bill Powers, as well as Tom Sachs . Following Tom's peep at the version with the alternate sole cushioning, we've now got another on-foot look at the intriguing build, this time in even more detail.
Likely the same pair shared via Tom's a few weeks back, it was snapped on the designer feet in SoHo, NYC. The closer look confirms that this version doesn't sport the standard SFB sole seen on previous Sachs creations, with a unit borrowed from the ACG Mountain Fly used instead. There's a gum-coloured waffle pattern on the outsole, as opposed to the previously seen black. The black rubberised toe bumper reinforcement is still present, as is the translucent TPU insert on the midfoot, red Swoosh branding, beige overlays, and metal hardware, which are all familiar traits for the Mars Yard cannon.
With the standard version by Nike, applications to join the Mars Yard 2.5 Wear Test are now being accepted via one-minute videos uploaded to Instagram. Complete details are available .
As for this alternate version, release details are still unknown. Could they be a one-off pair made for Sachs himself? We'll bring you more details as they come to light.
