Today, Nike Basketball announced the signing of five new up-and-coming names who have joined the brand’s roster, including none other than Bronny James.

Clips of the 18-year-old high schooler (often with LeBron senior watching from the stands) circulate on social media regularly, showing Bronny’s developing prowess on the hardwood of Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles. As LeBron James’ oldest son, it seemed only inevitable that Bronny would follow in his father’s footsteps, especially considering the truly outsized impact that James has had during his 19-year partnership with the brand.

Not only can LeBron boast of a signature footwear collection comprising 20 models, but Nike also just opened the doors of the LeBron James Innovation Center, a space on Nike’s Beaverton campus dedicated to athlete research and development.

Speaking on the new signing, Bronny noted, ‘For as long as I can remember, Nike’s been a part of my family. Getting a chance to team up with them and continue my family’s legacy both on the court and in the community is wild – it really means a lot to me.’

At the same time, Nike Basketball have also put pen to paper with four more promising names, Caitlin Clark, Haley Jones, DJ Wagner and JuJu Watkins.

Will Bronny’s Nike Basketball partnership be as lucrative and longstanding as his father’s? Time will tell. In the meantime, we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
