Last week, video game Armored Core released its sixth iteration. Originally releasing in 1997, the franchise has cemented itself as one of the hardest third-person shooters of all time. It’s nostalgic for many and has inspired sneaker customiser Ceeze to create a New Balance 2002r. Over the past few years, the New York-based designer has made himself known through a swathe of wild creations like the NB2002 ‘Kennedy’, luxe Air Jordan 1 ‘Chicago’ and ‘Grinch’-themed Nike SB dunk High.

Adding another to his ever-expanding catalogue, Ceeze has chosen to work on the the New Balance 2002R once again, this time opting for the deconstructed ‘Protection Pack’ variation. Inspired by Armored Core, the entire upper has been decked out in an eclectic mix of materials with python-like textured overlays, brown canvas base and premium nubuck.

Unfortunately for fans of the game, Ceeze’s Armored Core x New Balance 2002R won’t be available for purchase.
