Cross-Training and Skateboarding Collide On the Nike SB Dunk Low 'Chlorophyll'
are paying homage to the classic and its famous 'Chlorophyll' colourway with a new . A fusion of cross-training and skateboarding aesthetics, this low-cut tips its cap to two Swoosh product lines at once.
Perforated white leather on the toebox and quarter panels nod to the Air Trainer 1's base layer, while black and grey suede overlays/Swooshes acknowledge its supporting accents. As only a single photo is available, it's not possible to deduce exactly where the green shade that gives the 'Chlorophyll' its name is, but there's a good chance it's on the puffy tongue and possibly the insoles as well.
What makes this homage special is that the Air Trainer 1 has a long history with Nike SB. Before the skate-geared SB Air Trainer 1 debuted, skaters were drawn to the original model for the same reasons they appreciated the Air Jordan 1, namely its versatility, durability and comfort. Savier, the predecessor to Nike SB, even had a model called the 'Trainer' that was essentially an Air Trainer 1 sans branding. The was released in 2020, but this is the first time SB has saluted the trainer on their most famous silhouette.
At the time of writing, an official release date for the Nike SB Dunk Low 'Chlorophyll' has yet to be revealed, but it's scheduled to arrive at skate shops sometime in November.
