Delayed! Gundam x Nike SB Dunk High Release Setback Stateside
Earlier this week, certain parts of the globe were going nuts the fresh new Gundam x , but over in the United States it was a different story. As per our posted last week, stateside skate shops were meant to drop pairs on October 9. But word has just come through that there will be a delay.
Created in the 1970s by Yoshiyuki Tomino, Gundam is a military fiction world that has transcended its graphic novel and anime series origins. With the collectible nature of their figurines modelled after their giant robots, the natural next step was a collaboration with Nike SB.
Creating two unique SB Dunk Highs, the link up in June 2021 with flying around the internet. Once the was made, the hype train was powering full-steam ahead with Gundam fans, skaters and sneakerheads all looking for a piece of the action. The limited edition that surfaced last month only added fuel to the hype fire.
Originally, United States skate stores were meant to have both colourways of the Gundam x Nike SB Dunk Highs on October 9 with the white pair receiving a SNKRS release on October 12. But, according to nikesbfeatures the skate shop drop has been pushed back until November! An exact date is currently unknown and nothing has changed on the landing page as of yet either. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear anything and will create a US-based when the time comes.
