Open your Devin Booker compendiums to page one, Book 1, Chapter 1. We’re inching closer and closer to the Phoenix Suns guard launching his inaugural signature Nike shoe, the . Booker’s been celebrating the upcoming milestone by debuting various Book 1 colourways on-foot during NBA regular season games, from the ‘’ to the Kobe Bryant homage ‘.’ Now images of throwback 'Moss Point' colourway have emerged.
The palette was first spotted on Booker’s feet during the Phoenix Suns’ In-Season Tournament showdown against the Golden State Warriors on November 23. The pair’s exterior is reminiscent of Booker’s Moss Point’ , part of a Nike athlete-focused line of heritage silhouettes in 2019.
The shoe gets its name from Devin Booker’s alma mater, Moss Point High School, and its colour scheme is inspired by a corner store Booker used to frequent while attending there. Similar to its Air Force 1 brother, the Book 1 ‘Moss Point’ has a subtle cerulean leather upper with a suede gunmetal lace guard. These shades are complemented by a pearl finish on the sole. Inscribed on the metallic heel is the embroidered message ‘Yes Ma’am, No Sir,’ a reference to Booker’s Southern roots. Another easter egg can be found on the heel tag, which is emblazoned with Booker’s number 96.
The Book 1 is scheduled for a December launch date. The debut colourway, inspired by Drakes ‘All the Dogs’ album, will reportedly only see 500 pairs available. It’s expected that it and other colourways will see a broader release in Spring 2024.
