DIZYGOTIC Blaze Up With Cheech & Chong Again for the ‘Next Shoe’

Independent sneaker brand DIZYGOTIC, who focus on mismatched luxury, have become close homies with marijuana icons Cheech & Chong following their collaborative Project Alpha release last year. Now, the duo are back, crafting another Kush-crep to celebrate weed culture, and it’s just in time for the 2023 High Holiday! The silhouette is the Project Alpha, and the inspiration is Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong’s second film, released in 1980 and named Cheech & Chong’s Next Movie.

If there’s one thing DIZYGOTIC are known for, it’s adorning their sneaker creations with intricate detailing, and their latest is no exception. This pair directly pays homage to the outfits Cheech & Chong wore in their movie, with mudguards featuring patterns from Cheech’s blue shirt and Tommy’s bandana. Elsewhere, a mix of faux sheepskin, real horsehair and denim appear as tributes to niche aspects of the iconic film. Custom branding can be seen throughout, including on the heel, insole and tongue. Rounding out this epic collaboration is the napkin cloth inserts reading, ‘Ain’t that a peach’, which was inspired by one of the magic scenes performed by the duo.
