On-Foot! NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra in Black and Yellow

Update May 20, 2022: Following the reveal of a purple pair of NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terras, an on-foot look of the upcoming black and yellow rendition has arrived via @yankeekicks! Check out all the angles here and stay locked for a release date.

Drake scored five victories at the Billboard Music Awards last night, and now he's hot steppin' into a new week with a fresh colourway of the Hot Step Air Terra from his NOCTA line with Nike. Where the past two Hot Steps drops have featured tonal colour schemes that would look ideal with a crispy tracksuit, this third style instead opts for a two-tone makeup that's more vibrant than its predecessors.

The primary tone used is a stark black, but embellishment is served up by a sporty yellow shade that doesn't look too far off from Nike's past Livestrong colabs. This yellow is applied tastefully on the midsole's heel and is also used to highlight the upper's branded accents, from the small Swooshes to NOCTA's three-star logo on the tongue and the G-Tek hit on the heel.

If you get some strong turn-of-the-century vibes from the Hot Step, you're not wrong. It's based off the Air Terra Humara from 1999, using that model's midsole tooling and outsole traction pattern for a look that's equal parts GORPcore and roadman. Drake is no stranger to looking to old Swoosh silhouettes for inspiration either – during the Toronto Raptors' short-lived NBA Playoffs campaign, he was spotted wearing an Air Zoom Flight 95-inspired NOCTA x Nike model while sitting courtside at the games.
