Drake Offers Peek at NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra in ‘Triple Black’
Buried among social media posts was a cryptic snap of a previously unseen pair of his still unreleased model, a collaboration made possible via his brand. While most are now well aware of the all-white edition that’s done the rounds for months, this is a first sighting of a ‘Triple Black’ edition.
A celebrity of Drake’s calibre affords him a greater point of difference when it comes to sneaker colabs. The Hot Step Air Terra is effectively a bespoke model for Champagne Papi, which takes heavy leanings on the from circa 1999. This design, originally conceived by Peter Fogg for the rigours of the trail, is remixed to luxurious standards in all-leather, inside and out, while meeting a functional sensibility seemingly reflected by Drake’s penchant for wearing technical shell jackets every now and again.
This inverted colourway, while about 99 per cent stealth, still retains some flash. Chromed eyelets and moulded Swoosh branding add bling, while what appears to be ‘Volt’ coloured Air unit internals again nod to the tech aesthetic underscoring the entire design.
Some creative cropping was needed to get up close with this shoe – let’s hope Drake offers a clearer snap next time.
