Foot Locker Launches Concept Store, Melbourne Australia
Foot locker invited basketball fans to the Foot Locker Swanston Street store on Tuesday April 22, for the launch of the first national Foot Locker basketball basement. Foot Locker’s basketball basement stocks basketball footwear and apparel inspired by the game’s biggest names and most popular brands.
The scene was set at sunrise as Swanston St came to life with b-boys and basketball displays from early morning – more than 500 basketballs were snuck into odd and iconic locations along Swanston St and Melbourne’s CBD and were a gladly received surprise for the daily city commuter as they secured their own basketball and dribbled into work!
The Foot Locker concept store basketball basement is set to be a destination for all basketball aficionados. The full day of launch activities saw hundreds of city punters hit the basement to flick through the latest basketball mags in customised leather seats and check out behind the scenes exclusive interviews with favourite players on the plasma screen whilst fashion parades and dancers entertained both in store and on the street.
To celebrate the opening of the new Swanston St store, Foot Locker threw a VIP party. As dusk set and the day’s music, dance and basketball activities reached full time, special guests arrived in Hummers to the VIP launch.
DJ PERIL supported by MC BUKKCITY played tunes whilst WICKID FORCE breakers put on a show. Roll call involved NBL stars Chris Anstey, Jason Smith, Leonard Coplin and D Mac, funny man Ryan Shelton and football stars Brent Guerra and Brad Sewell.
