Full Reveal: Nike's 2020 ISPA Collection
are forever pushing the boundaries with shoe design, trying to merge shoes fit for athletes that can be worn everyday in the concrete jungle. A living embodiment of that innovative philosophy, Nike’s ISPA range stands for: Improvise, Scavenge, Protect and Adapt. It aims to address the needs of the city dweller through environmentally-friendly and forward-thinking design.
Nike have just revealed their 2020 ISPA offerings, and we’ve received a look at five different sneaker silhouettes. Take a look through the whole collection down below.
Nike ISPA Road Warrior
Borrowing elements from running, basketball, training and outdoor footwear, Nike’s ISPA Road Warrior is one hectic looking shoe. Looking like something from 30 years into the future, the open heel detail steals from early Shox prototypes. Switching it up, Team Swoosh have then added double stacked Zoom pods, a Tabi toe, and a super breathable knitted upper.
Keep an eye on Nike retailers, the Nike ISPA Road Warrior hits us on July 18.
Nike ISPA Drifter
Another Tabi-toed crep for athletes living in the concrete jungle, the ISPA Drifter has merged traditional Japanese work boots with the forward-thinking of Nike’s design team. Created for everyday wear, a breathable upper sits atop a lightweight ZoomX foam midsole. Another interesting feature is the unique lacing system that allows for tightening at the front and centre of the shoe.
Nike’s ISPA Drifter arrives in stores on September 1.
Nike ISPA Flow
The ISPA Flow is built for extreme daily use, and has been kitted out with an extremely light and breathable upper so it can ‘adapt to the unexpected’. By studying heat maps of the foot, Nike’s design team generated an open weave mono mesh which balances stability, style and breathability.
The ISPA Flow is expected to reach stores on August 13.
Nike ISPA Overreact FK
Described by Nike as a ‘giant hug for your foot’, the ISPA Overreact FK doubles down on the React cushioning, and beefs up the comfortability. React is a lightweight compound that offers extremely soft cushioning, energy return, and major durability. Team Swoosh have also removed the strobel and sockliner so every step the wearer takes will be on raw React foam! Completing the model is Nike’s iconic Flyknit, and a simple but effective fastening system.
Lock in July 9 because that’s when the ISPA Overreact FK arrives in stores.
Nike ISPA Overreact FK Sandal
The Overreact FK also takes the form of a sandal. Maintaining the same level of comfortability, the ISPA Overreact FK Sandal has been stripped to its bare essentials, taking a more functional route. While it allows for air to flow through the shoe, the hidden layers provide protection.
The ISPA Overreact FK Sandal is set to hit stores globally on July 31.
