Harry Styles Connected to 100 Per Cent Increase in adidas Gazelle Sales

If there’s any celebrity who’s been synonymous with the Gucci x adidas Gazelle in 2023, it’s Harry Styles. Whether it was on-stage at the HSLOT shows, or off-duty, the ‘As It Was’ singer has forged an unforgettable alliance with the model in the past year.

A major uptick, like terrace sneakers has experienced, can always be traced to key moments dotted with celebrity co-signs and social media trends, and in the case of the Samba and Gazelle, it was a perfect storm of both. While the trend was brewing away on platforms like TikTok, Harry Styles kept the styles as his go-to pairs on-stage, and was first spotted wearing them as part of his tour promo in April 2022. With Styles’s HSLOT coming to an end earlier this year, online marketplace Laced assessed Harry’s footwear from all 169 Love on Tour shows, as well as assessing their own stats too.

Among the stats, it was recorded that Styles wore seven colourways of the Gucci x adidas Gazelle on tour, with the final show seeing the performer along with the entire band wearing personalised black pairs. Styles wore Gazelles for 74 per cent of the entire tour, and has worn them for 98 per cent of the shows since the Gucci x adidas Gazelles were first released. The red velvet Gucci x adidas Gazelles were his favourite pair, worn for 30 of the shows out of the total.

When the tour concluded, Laced reviewed their data and saw a 100 per cent increase in adidas Gazelles sales and a 2,638 per cent increase in sales of adidas Sambas in comparison to the same period last year. Laced transitioned from not selling a single pair of either shoe during the first seven months of 2022 to selling hundreds during the same period in 2023.
