Melbourne’s Helping Hoops Charity Shootout Celebrates 10th Anniversary
The Helping Hoops Charity Shootout is returning to Melbourne for its 10 year anniversary! After taking a breather the past two years, the basketball challenge is back with the formidable target of raising over $100,000 for youth charity initiatives.
Challengers have to score as many free throws as possible in a 15-minute window. The record stands at a whopping 388, which was achieved in 2019 by AFL player Adam Treloar. HH ambassador and Melbourne United captain Chris Goulding has set himself the lofty task of topping the high score, and entrants are encouraged to have a crack at the record as well!
Prizes for top shootout scorers have been generously donated by major partners , Melbourne United and the Ben Simmons Family Foundation. Following the event, fundraising will run throughout the month of May to help hit the $100K goal.
The Helping Hoops Charity Shootout will be held at Elevate 24:7 Basketball in Sunshine North on April 30, and at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre the following day.
