Join the Helping Hoops ‘Game Changers’ Fundraising Lunch
Charity organisation have been providing free basketball programs to Melbourne youth for over 10 years. Largely operating on volunteer assistance, donations and corporate sponsorship, they are now making another call for help so that the programs run and grow. They'll be holding a special ‘Game Changers’ fundraiser lunch for generous ticketholders, with a panel of local basketball stars and community leaders who'll be imparting their advice and insights.
Helping Hoops currently conduct 12 programs each week across key Melbourne suburbs including Broadmeadows, Footscray and Richmond, resulting in over 600 sessions delivered to over 1000 youths. These sessions are centred around three key themes – Bounce, Power and Future – catering to areas including the joy of basketball, women’s empowerment and overcoming difficulty.
Attendees of ‘Game Changers’ will be directly contributing to ensuring this admirable cause continues running, which in some cases can really change a young person’s life for the better. Guests will hear from a panel consisting of women’s basketball and AFL players Ezi Magbegor, Shimona Nelson and Darcy Vescio, moderated by Maria Dimopoulos. There will also be raffles and auctions at the lunch to raise further funds for the Helping Hoops program.
The ‘Game Changers’ lunch will be held at Half Acre in South Melbourne on November 26. Get more info and tickets .
