Vans Announce New House of Vans Outpost In Mexico City!
have announced the opening of their new location in Mexico City. Joining other HoV outposts in London, Chicago, Vancouver, São Paulo and more, the Mexico City house will serve as a creative hub in the city, one that boasts live music, art galleries, workshops, an indoor skatepark and roof bowl and much more!
Located in Mexico City's Mixcoac neighbourhood on Rubens and Avenue Revolución, the 'multidisciplinary creative space' spans multiple floors with spaces to work, play eat and learn. Its crown jewels, however, may be the skate spaces: an indoor concrete park sits under natural light and a massive skeleton mural, while the roof boasts a kidney bean-shaped wooden bowl with beautiful views of the city.
'It is an honour for Vans to permanently open House of Vans Mexico City. It’s a space where the ‘Off The Wall’ spirit lives, which will enable action sports, music, art, and street culture communities to embrace and develop their expressive creativity to keep making history within Mexico City’s rich creative landscape,' said Iñigo Perezcano, a senior marketing manager at .
The space will open to the public on December 9, and to celebrate Vans is throwing three concerts in the first three days. Japanese Breakfast, lead by vocalist and best-selling author Michelle Zauner will kick things off on the 9th, then Mexico City-based punk band Molotov will take the stage on the 10th and UK electro-pop band Hot Chip will perform on the 11th. The House Of Vans Mexico City art gallery will open with an exhibition from Marcos Castro, the artist who's responsible for the building's main mural. All House of Vans events are free to the public!
