Inspired By Nature: Nike's Air Force 1 and Blazer Bloom in the ‘Plant Cork Pack’
have made huge strides in their , and they’ve looked to nature to inspire the ‘Plant Cork Pack’, a collection of classics that carry on Beaverton’s experimentation with exploratory materials. Highlighted with an and two colourways, each made with 20 per cent recycled content by weight, the pack is yet another stride towards the Swoosh’s zero carbon, zero waste future.
Coloured with plant-based dyes, each piece features stunning botanical embroidery, scientific details, and a note about the country of origin.
‘Flowers are processed into a dye and give off a colour. On each shoe we are highlighting a plant, and whatever colour that plant is processed into is the accent colour on that shoe,’ says Dohnn Ball from Nike.
The 20 per cent recycled content is made up of Recycled Poly Canvas and other textiles all the uppers, while the outsoles are constructed with rubber made from nine per cent recycled cork – partially sourced from the wine industry. We’ll drink to that!
Eco-friendy and easy-to-rock, the Air Force 1 arrives in black, with his-and-her’s white renditions of the Blazer sure to please those who love ‘clean’ colourways.
