The Nike Air Max 97 Heads to the San Siro for an Inter Milan Collaboration

The Nike Air Max 97 has a cult-like following in certain regions across the world, specifically in Italy. So it’s fitting the Air Max 97 is getting a collaborative take with the help of Serie A club Inter Milan, using their iconic home kit as inspiration.

Inter and Nike have a long-standing relationship as Nike has been the official kit supplier for the club since 1998. A few sneaker collaborations between the two have happened in the past, most notably, the Nike SB Air Zoom FC in which Inter got to put their home kit colours along with the club crest on the footy-inspired skateboarding sneaker.

The collaborative Air Max 97 takes the black and blue stripes from the Inter Milan home kit and brings it to the bullet train-inspired sneaker. Blue mesh makes up the upper with black overlays that are also reflective. The Swooshes on the tongue and trim on the lateral window are seen in gold as well as on the edges of the rear pulltab.

A full-length Air Max unit is used that sits in a black midsole with a black and white outsole finishing off the sneaker.
