On-Foot: J Balvin x Air Jordan 2 Friends and Family

J Balvin flipped the sneaker industry on its head in 2020, the Prince of Reggaeton becoming the first Latino artist to collaborate with the Jordan Brand. Launching his debut Air Jordan 1 ‘Colores Y Vibras’, the 37-year-old Colombian artist will now take the toolkit to Michael Jordan’s sophomore sneaker, the Air Jordan 2.​

Thrust back into the limelight thanks to collaborations with Union L.A. and Off-White, the Air Jordan 2 is expected to have a strong second half in 2022, the reportedly arriving over the coming months.

A brand new Friends and Family colourway has also surfaced on social media via Frank Cooker, the green design again replete with padded-style uppers and LED detailing. As with the GR product, the F&F rendition is inspired by the sky, with cloud graphics on the heels and lining. Balvin’s signature smiley face is stamped on the heels, with personal branding extended to the inner tongues. Finally, glow-in-the-dark rubber outsoles complete the collaboration.
