Jared Carver Steps Up as New Converse CEO
VP/GM of Global Digital Direct, VP of Strategy and Director of Strategy and Business Development for Converse Europe are prior leadership roles Carver has occupied in over a decade with the brand. His last engagement was VP/GM of Converse in the North America region, which ‘unlocked strong growth in the brand’s largest geography’ during his four-year tenure.
Converse have been part of Nike since 2003 after being acquired by the Swoosh for just over $300 million – a relative bargain considering the Chuck Taylor brand generated over $2 billion in revenue in 2022.
The move comes amid multiple movements in Nike corporation’s upper management, which has included the significant announcement of Sarah Mensah as Jordan Brand’s first female president. She was previously VP/GM of Nike in the North America region, hence Uzzell’s transition into her old role.
Per Nike president and CEO John Donahoe’s – who Carver will be reporting to – statement following last week’s senior changes, ‘these shifts will allow us to streamline our focus across product, brand storytelling and marketplace, mining deep consumer insights to deliver breakthrough innovation and engagement while building long-term growth and profitability.’
