Check Out Jayson Tatum’s Ford Mustang-Inspired Air Jordan 14 PE
Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum has had a pretty impressive basketball career so far, and it’s just gotten even better with this player exclusive – at least until he wins an NBA Championship. Referencing his classic custom 1966 Ford Mustang, this sleek black and chrome-trimmed kick is a perfect spiritual descendent of the AJ14’s motoring-inspired origins.
PE Jordans are usually distinguished by bespoke branding and access to premium materials. Tatum’s edition takes full advantage of both opportunities by sporting a luxe suede lateral wrap and quilted leather medial side. The glossy patent toe cap then connects these halves – trimmed by chrome piping, just like the ’66 Mustang – that runs into a perforated patent tongue. The baller’s number zero jersey is referenced throughout the heel branding, which sees double zeroes on the heel counter and chrome lateral ankle badge. Other nods to the classic car include tricolour racing stripes on the heel that also loosely resemble the parallel rear lights of the vehicle.
These AJ14 PEs were earlier this year, which were rocked off-court before Tatum pulled on a matching PE while playing the Brooklyn Nets. Check out the above shots by sneaker photographer .
