Jayson Tatum Joins Jordan Brand
Jayson Tatum is swapping the Swoosh for the Jumpman.
have announced that the young Celtics star and former Duke standout has moved to the Jordan roster and will be rocking the Jumpman going forward. You may recall that Tatum was one of the stars that debuted self-lacing on the court this past season, so it'll be interesting to see what the St. Louis native laces up for his third NBA season.
'It's a tremendous feeling to be a part of the Jordan Brand family,' said Tatum. 'I can't really express how happy and excited I am for this journey. It's truly an honour.'
Tatum will be joined on the Jumpman's roster by newly drafted Washington Wizard Rui Hachimura. The first Japanese national to play in the Division 1 NCAA Tournament, Hachimura starred for Gonzaga last season, and recently became the first Japanese player to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft.
'In just two seasons, Jayson has established himself as one of the league's most promising young players, with a work ethic and mindset that reflects what Jordan Brand stands for. Rui is already making history on the court, and in the process, he's become a hero to an entire country,' said Jordan Brand President Craig Williams. 'What's most impressive to me about these two young men isn't their remarkable talent, but the strong character and maturity they carry themselves with on and off the court.'
