JJJJound’s Next New Balance 990v3 Colab Is a Montreal Exclusive

Update November 23, 2022: JJJJound’s next New Balance 990v3 collaboration is confirmed to be a Montreal exclusive release, with the upcoming colourway scheduled to arrive on November 25 at 12 pm ET. Orders will be available for pick-up at JJJJound’s upcoming installation in Montreal.

As objectively formulaic as JJJJound’s sneaker collaborations are, they’ve worked out the magic formula that ensures any drop sells out instantly, and aftermarket value stays high. The ‘less is more’ approach gets yet another run on the New Balance 990v3 – something of a staple collaborative model for the Tumblr page turned Instagram-friendly label – as the model adopts an earthy shade of brown.

In the style of previous NB teasers, JJJJound’s Justin Saunders has posted on Instagram a neatly arranged collection of the Made in USA v3s. All are deliberately slightly haphazardly laced, with some errant lace ends dangling in sprezzatura. From what can be seen, these pairs use the same nubuck and mesh combination on the upper, meeting slightly cream laces and midsole accents. In typical JJJJound fashion, the only co-branding is found on the insoles, though a heel shot will confirm whether there’s more.
