Jayson Tatum’s 1966 Ford Mustang has a special place in his heart, so much so that Jordan Brand have dropped a few PEs inspired by his black and chrome accented car. Appearing on the Air Jordan 14 Low, Air Jordan 36 and Air Jordan 37 Low, the Mustang-adjacent colourway is now destined for his signature JT1. The new edition will be dubbed the ‘Old School’ and is expected to hit retailers.

Like his Mustang, black Lenowave appears on the upper with a black leather tongue and silver accenting placed throughout. Tatum’s JT logo is stitched on the tongue in silver, and the Jumpman is seen on the heel, stitched over the black, ribbed leather panel. A bright red heel tab adds some pop to the sneaker, above which is Tatum’s stitched number 0.

Going down into the grey midsole, a large unlocked forefoot Zoom unit, similar to the Air Jordan 34 and 35, a sneaker Tatum consistently went back to on court. A TPU cage and outrigger stabilise the Zoom unit with Phylon foam wrapped around the cage and in the midsole. Rubber is strategically placed on the forefoot, with the heel featuring a wavy pattern carved into the foam, helping reduce weight.

The Jordan JT1 ‘Old School’ is expected to drop later this year via Nike’s channels and at select retailers for $120. Keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for any updates.
