The Jordan Zion 3 Has Been Introduced at Quai 54
joined the family during the summer of 2019, and fast forward to 2023, the NBA All-Star is now on his third signature sneaker with the Jumpman in the Jordan Zion 3 which has been unveiled at Quai 54 in Paris.
’This is crazy. It still doesn’t feel real that I have a signature shoe, and here we are with Jordan Brand on my third one. The Zion 3 not only tells my story of making it out the mud, but it is one that I believe many basketball players out there will like because of its low-to-the-ground feel and incredible cushioning.’
The Zion 3 opts for a low cut this time around designed around responsiveness without sacrificing impact protection. A new cushioning setup is used for the Zion 3 as well, deviating from the Air Strobel setup seen in previous Zion models. A Formula23 drop-in midsole along with a Zoom Air unit is used for cushioning with a raised TPU panel placed on the lateral side for containment. The lateral panelling also features Zion’s Z icon with Zion’s logo placed down the heel.
Zion often told the Jordan Design Team that he made it out of the mud, coming from Marion, SC to the league. The team took that in mind and used 3D imaging of Zion’s foot last launching through mud which we get the colour splatter seen on the upper. Not only used for design, the upper features haptic ink to bring containment and reinforcement in stress areas.
The Jordan Zion 3 is set to drop starting in September via Nike’s channels and select retailers for $140. Check out the colourways dropping in the near future below.
