Kim K Given Yeezy Ownership and $1 Million for Loyalty
is now a part owner of the brand. True, being married to already gave her a de facto stake in the company, but now her ownership is direct. Speaking on Ashley Graham’s Pretty Big Deal podcast, Kim said that Kanye gifted her part-ownership and $1 million USD for being loyal.
A brand Kim didn’t want to disclose, but who ‘typically knock-off Yeezy’, had offered her the same princely sum to post their wares on her Instagram. She turned down the #sponcon, and Kanye showed his appreciation with a gift.
‘I open the envelope and it’s a million-dollar cheque and it was a note saying, “Thank you for always supporting me and not posting.” And then, in the rest of the envelope it was a contract to be an owner of Yeezy and my percentage.’
It’s not clear how big that percentage is, but with Yeezy at $1.5 billion, even a morsel of the total amount is generous.
