One of the of the 90s could be making a comeback, with retro rumours for the fan-favourite ‘Black Metallic’ doing the rounds. Made famous by NBA Hall of Fame inductee Jason Kidd during his rookie season, the sneaker was the first to be labelled with ‘Zoom Air’, and was designed by the legendary Eric Avar.
The colourway last released back in 2015 to celebrate its 20th anniversary, done in the familiar black, white, and ‘Metallic Silver’ scheme. You expect a similar build to previous renditions, with a black nubuck upper and carbon fibre accents giving the sneaker its one-of-a-kind aesthetic. The large Zoom circles are found on the midsole, as Swoosh branding hits at the ankle, toe box, and insoles. Additionally, there’s two-toned laces and ‘Flight’ branding on the heel pull tabs. As mentioned, the Zoom Air cushioning plays the starring role down below.
