Jayson Tatum Wore this Melody Ehsani Air Jordan 36 PE Before Game 2 of the NBA Finals
The Boston Celtics took a 107-88 drubbing at the hands of the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of the Finals last night, but the Celtics' was no slouch – pouring in 28 points in the losing effort and taking the court for warm-ups with unique pair of on his feet. Now, more info on Tatum's special sneakers has surfaced: they're in fact a PE!
Designer Melody Ehsani (who heads up her eponymous label) recently took to her to offer some info on the multicoloured, snakeskin-patterned sneakers stating 'The hamsa (or hand of God) on the sole is a symbol for protection from anything that doesn't serve your purpose,' and 'The interior of the shoe reads "we stand on the shoulders of greats".' Besides the details the designer called out, the shoes also boast custom tongue labels, highly-detailed lace deubres and another hamsa graphic in the middle of the throat.
Ehsani is no stranger to Jordan Brand colabs, of course. In the past, she's cooked up a colourful as part of 2019's , and also crafted a special with cherry lace deubres. However, this marks her brand's first appearance on an NBA court – and it was right before the NBA Finals, nonetheless. She may have felt just a touch conflicted though, as her and her husband Flea (yes, Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers) are avowed Los Angeles Lakers fans!
These PEs will never see a retail release, but you can enjoy all their patterned and printed goodness in the photos directly above.
