The burst back onto the scene in 2020 via a collaboration with and the retro of some OG colourways. Originally, the 2002 was an obscure running model from around the 2010s that boasted a premium build and a high price-tag meant for runners with a little more cash to splash. Due to its initial RRP, the NB2002 was short-lived and emerged 10 years later with a subtle name change – NB2002R – which reflects the changes made. Ever since the resurgence, the silhouette has become an in integral part of New Balance and can be regularly spotted in a bunch of GR colourways. The latest has now arrived and it’s called ‘Rain Cloud’.
In classic New Balance style, this NB2002R has been crafted with a crisp material mix, rocking a cream mesh base layer, subtle shaggy suede purple overlays and premium tanned leather heel. The usual ’N’ logo has been plastered on each side, however is now in a white leather. Added premium touches include the debossed tongue logo and lace holder.
No release date has been locked in for the New Balance 2002R ‘Rain Cloud’ however we suspect that they should be arriving at select retailers in the coming few months.
