New Balance Supply Two Sporty Blue and Yellow 550s
risen-from-the-catacombs – a late 1980s basketball shoe that's gone from totally obscure to lifestyle favourite over the last two years – has been enjoying a fruitful 2022, and just days after releasing as a key piece of the pack, it's dropped in a duo of white, yellow and blue colourways that nod to its origins as a 'team bank' silhouette.
Each pair boasts a white leather upper split between smooth and perforated panels. This crisp base serves as a perfect backdrop to the colourful accents used. One pair uses a rich sport blue around the collar, tongue, heel and forefoot, then adds a slight dash of yellow on the branded hits and heel. Save for retaining blue heel hits and midfoot foxing, the other pair flips the script by using yellow prominently and switching blue to an accent role on its own branded hits. Colourful outsoles finalise each look.
Both of these colourways recently hit HBX and sold out faster than you can say 'five-fifty,' but they're likely to see a wider rollout in the coming weeks when they'll join other recent colourways like the and in continuing the model's push to the forefront of New Balance's lifestyle products. Expect to pay $110 if you'd like to add a pair to your collection.
