New Balance Prepare a Multicolour 550
Last year, Teddy Santis’ resurrected the silhouette, bringing it into the spotlight for the first time since its 1989 beginnings. An OG basketball silhouette, it boasts a classic, vintage look that slots in perfectly with the latest sneaker trends of 2021. After seeing the success of the ALD colab, New Balance decided to go full steam ahead and reintroduce it as a mainstay within their lineup. Recently, we’ve been blessed with an array of combos, mostly in simplistic two-tone looks. Now, NB have gone full-blown multicolour!
The base has been crafted using all-white leather, with perforations dominating each side and giving off a genuine 80s vibe. Red ‘N’ branding has been plastered in the middle of the lateral and medial sides, sitting nicely next to the 550 scripted near the toe box. A vintage-inspired graphic tongue tag is a main attraction, and is complemented by splashes of green, navy and yellow around the heel and outsole.
So far, no release details have surfaced, but we’re sure these can’t be too far away. We’ll keep you updated when more information surfaces.
